The Warwick Teachers Union stated above that they "would meet at any time to negotiate including weekends".

Arbitrator Attorney Vincent Ragosta said he couldn't see any reason that Mayor Avedisian "couldn't keep the wheels turning".

Yet the Mayor has spent more time on vacation than on this, the most important issue facing Warwick.

Our student population has crashed from 17,000 to much less than 9,000. We don't need meetings weeks from now. We need them NOW. We need a mayor and a School Committee that will "meet at any time including weekends" to resolve the teachers contract. Isn't that what they are hired to do? For the record, I have always promised that level of commitment. As Mayor I won't rest until we have a contract for our teachers. I fear that we will still be waiting for that from Mayor Avedisian when the 2018 elections arrive. I hope I am wrong.

Happy Summer everyone.
