Dear Dave,

Once again, you hit the nail on the head.

Warwick taxpayers lost the tax revenue on over 100 homes and saw their taxes increase as a result. Mayor Avedisian gave those properties to the RI Airport Corporation in order to extend the runway and all the taxpayers received in return was air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and soil pollution. That's why I am committed to renegotiating the airport agreement. Now, as you pointed out we have to "bribe" airlines to come here, at additional expense to the taxpayer. That is why I support Camille Vella-Wilkensons legislation to increase the PILOT (payment-in-lieu-of-taxes) from the break-even amount of $500,000 to $1,500,000 which will actually decrease the impact on the Warwick taxpayers and might even lower taxes!

Now Dave, we both know that my critics will say it can't be done. "The airport agreement is a done-deal. It can't be renegotiated!" But we all know that anything can be renegotiated, and Dave, as Mayor, I intend to do just that. In the meantime Vella-Wilkenson showed my critics that she is a whole lot smarter than they are. (me too!) Her legislation is a great "first-step", which when compared to my critics "no-step-whatsoever!" proves that she is a great leader and my critics were WRONG...again.

WAY-TO-GO-CAMILLE-VELLA-WILKENSON!

Happy Summer Dave.

Happy Summer everyone.
