It is certainly worth questioning what the losing mayoral candidate expects to gain from such statements; perhaps he hopes that Councilwoman Travis would somehow help his candidacy better than she did in 2016, when the vote counts were as follows:
Travis: 2,497; Avedisian: 2,607; Losing candidate: 1,619
Losing the councilwoman's district by nearly 1,000 votes should be an indication that the failed candidate may wish to try something other than riding the coattails of other candidates in his recently-adopted party.
