This is the second piece of legislation in regards to this same issue. It's good to hear that Sen. Lynch-Prata recognizes that the airport isn't paying their fair share. They received the land that previously had over 100 houses on it. Those homes were paying millions in real estate taxes. The airport got that land and gave to the citizens of Warwick air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and soil pollution. The Warwick taxpayers were severely taken advantage of. The RIAC never even made all of the renovations to the surrounding properties they promised to make. I have promised that, as Mayor, I would renegotiate the Airport Agreement. My critics said that it was a "done-deal" and couldn't be renegotiated. Sen. Lynch-Prata, Sen. Majority Leader Michael McCaffrey, and Sen. Calkin are agreeing with Rep. Camille Vella-Wilkinson and showing that it CAN be renegotiated! Nothing is impossible if you respect the needs of the 80,000 taxpayers that are paying the tab.

These elected officials are proving it.

Happy Valentines everyone.
