Hello again Thecaptain:

Why would the fake "mayor" acknowledge reality, when he can just continue to make up delusional statements and post them on the Beacon?

Maybe he's too busy trashing the city to remember that Warwick hosts Gaspee Days [including a parade] every June -- clearly, admitting that the city already holds very popular and well-attended events ruins the narrative that he's trying to push.

"At present we're doing nothing, or close to it."

That must have sounded so good in his own head -- the only place, coincidentally, where there are no new hotels being built at City Center, no new stores moving into Rhode Island Mall, and no new restaurants opening near the airport.

And maybe he's too busy twisting the facts to realize that not all of the 5,800 residents who left Warwick were taxpayers, in the sense of owning homes and cars -- and that Warwick simply does not have 5,800 available properties for purchase by these imaginary taxpayers.

At least he recognizes one fact, even if it's unintentional, when he says: "Maybe we could even 'Cut Taxes - Cut Spending.'"

By saying the city "could" cut taxes and spending, he is finally admitting that his party's majority on the city council increased spending and revenue from taxes in FY18.

Of course, as you and I have seen so often from the fake "mayor," he will no doubt disavow any such meaning and insist that those increases were actually cuts and repeat the false statements he's made before about this year's budget.
