It is a great relief that the Beacon editors deleted the fake "mayor's" most recent attempt to smear the school committee and demand an audit of the school department, when one is already done, every year, by the same firm that audits the city's books.

I hope that they continue to closely review his clearly political statements and ensure that he is not continuing to use this site for free political advertising, when the Beacon's past practice has been to require payment for such advertisements.
