Dear Justanidiot,

Respectfully, old friend I disagree with you about the teachers "works to rull". I can't imagine they were as anxious to "give it their best" when there was no contract in place. Would you? I wouldn't. But once they finally crossed that finish line I'm sure they felt more stable and human nature dictates that the teachers (and anyone else) would want to work harder from that day on. It should have happened two years ago. Warwick's reputation suffered badly during that time and our student population crashed. Remember that the Warwick Teachers Union was ALWAYS willing to "sit and negotiate". Also remember that for two full years, the Warwick School Committee and Mayor Avedisian refused. As Mayor I would never refuse to talk. Not necessarily agree, but at least talk. Communication is the key to finding a solution.
