Correct me if I am wrong. Didn't the city council approve new contracts for police and municipal workers giving them just under a 3% raise the day before the last special school committee meeting? The meeting which was called to find a way to close the $6.6 million gap in the budget. The council and the new mayor knew the school situation and then went ahead with the increases.. Interesting.
