MisterP....how did you expect the council to not give the police and municipal workers raises when fire and teachers got them?

This is how it works. If the teachers get 9% over 3 years, each other union will expect the same or close. That is why the council and school department must put a stop to the expectation that the unions will get 3% each year. Inflation has been low. There is no need for 3% each year. In fact, it is time to tell city workers that if they want their generous pensions, something has to give. City workers are well paid in Warwick. Time for taxpayers to get a break. Hard to do when politicians need to get re-elected every other year.
