In 2016 37.7% of Rhode Island high school students admitted to vaping and the language used by educators in MIDDLE and High Schools is that the youth vaping trend is "Exploding"... maybe Mr. Pursche is the exception but it signs indicate that these things are in the hands of children and because of the "it is safer that tobacco" marketing kids are assuming that it is safe. After all it is just water vapor, right?

Wrong!

A 2018 study by American Chemical Society showed that increased levels of formaldehyde, acrolein and methyglyoxal was found in the saliva of test subjects that "lightly used" e-cigarettes & other vaping devices - the more usage of these devices the higher the elevations of the chemicals... Something those three chemicals have in common is that exposure causes damage to DNA, damage that causes mutated and damaged cells to replicate which results in cancer. The ACS has recently acknowledged that there have not been enough long term studies of the effects of vaping and that new studies are indicating that while as a tool to migrate off of tobacco products vaping is viable, there are a rising number of risks involved.

Another 2018 study published by the British Medical Journal revealed that the vapor that is pulled into the lungs from these products disables protective cells in the lung responsible for keeping airways clear of harmful particles, this results in symptoms akin to asthma and COPD in young otherwise healthy test subjects.

At the end of the day these products are not safe and the manufacturers/distributors/vendors (like the producers of tobacco products) are preying on the ignorance of the consumer to make a buck at the cost of their health.
