Parents can apply for reduced lunch prices based on income. Parents have options. We have thousands who live off us through SSI, Welfare and WIC/EBT who are fully capable of working. I never want to see a child go without. I make sure before I do or get anything for myself that my child comes first. The newspapers print names of people who do not pay their taxes, maybe after a dollar amount is passed the same happens to the parents for school lunch debt. I have witnessed in past years where collections were taken up for families based on the child's appearance. Only to find out that the parents just neglected the kids.
