"I have witnessed in past years where collections were taken up for families based on the child's appearance. Only to find out that the parents just neglected the kids. "

Honestly, it is always me, myself or mine when it comes to every social issue. Sun butter sandwiches are a signal to everyone at lunch that you can't afford your food. That in turns can equate directly to bullying. Most of us can connect those dots.

It is still a parent problem and not a child problem. Deal with the parents. Let's the child be a child. That isn't being a snowflake. It's being kind and compassionate towards the innocent victim.

Your own admission states the child was "just neglected" as if that was no big deal. What happened to helping your neighbor out?Being a good person. Helping those in need? I am not old but even I understand that is what is lacking in today's society.

One more thing to note for ThatGuyInRI: These kids didn't come up with participation trophy's, time out or safe spaces. They are the product of parents that did that. You are pretty free with calling people quaintly "kitty cats" but you are clearly not able to understand they didn't create the problem. Your generation did that.
