Unlike the visual and obvious outcomes of other government services, schools tend to function out of the public's eye when it comes to outcomes. For example, drive down Rt. 95, visit the RMV or a state beach. All are blatant, constant, and visual reminders of the relative value of government services. Schools are different because it requires some digging. It's easy for the SC to insist it needs more money, but there is never, ever any explanation of the quality of outcome, or the quality of the service for which taxpayers pay dearly. Taxpayers are reminded, if not scolded, constantly about education being an "investment". But nary a word is ever said about the quality of that investment. Specifically, how does Warwick's "investment" stack up against neighboring "investments"? And why is this not discussed openly. I think we know why. That is the job of a SC that has failed taxpayers miserably. But worse, they have abdicated all responsibility to the children of Warwick, and overseen the process of a once-proud system deteriorating into one of rampant and alarming underachievement. No one is accountable. No one is responsible. Just send us more money. For our "investment" that continues to underperform. No thanks.
