This is a great deal for the city. While the rest of the unions got a 8.25% raise over three years the WFD took 6.25% over 4 years. Good faith effort from both sides. This contract was about moving forward. The many lies purported from Mr Cote and some in the city council that the department was stealing, being investigated by the FBI, abusing sick time all turned out blatantly false. I believe both sides wanted to move on from the petty talk. The council Pres will ramble on Monday night against this deal while deep dii I win knowing it’s good for the city.
