This contract starts progress towards open for all city contracts. If left to an arbitrator ( which has ruled in the unions favor) this could potentially cost the city much more in the long run. The arbitrator will look at what the other unions received for raises 2.75 x3 as well as what similar neighboring communities have for man power which could lead to more firefighters ie .. salaries ,benefits and most importantly legacy costs .
