So tell me, Bob. What is 0% of 0? Because ZERO is what every employee pays towards OPEB right now. That fact that the firefighters are the first to acknowledge this issue and agree at all to this plan is commendable. That’s to say nothing or giving back holiday and sick time, increases time between step increases and agreeing to the city’s ask of switching to 24hr shifts. This contract is a COMPLETE win for the City. Unfortunately, we have some people who make a name for themselves with their bloviating and a couple of people on the council who exploit them for political gain. This contract doesn’t fit into their narrative of the big dumb greedy fireman so what do they do? Grab at straws, spread falsehoods and obstruct, obstruct, obstruct....
