Scal1024 I agree with you that we should stick to the facts and work through this like well adjusted adults. However when you have a group of people that continually spread lies, manipulate information, degrade/name call, follow and physically confront people in public this is where we and up. People don't join the fire service on the premise of becoming rich, I can guarantee you that. They do it to help people, serve a community, to be a part of something bigger than oneself and do it with an amazing group of people just to name a few reasons. There is a lot that comes along with being a firefighter, and for those that want to say you know what you signed up for that is just plain ignorant. Truth is you really don't know what you signed up for until you are well into your career. There are things seen and experienced that no one would be able to fully explain to someone just starting out. To be clear firefighters don't want sympathy, they have a passion for and love the job that they do. It would be nice to not be called names, demonized, and be portrayed as something we are not.
