Well, have all the adults left the room? I have had more intelligent (and less offensive) debates with college students.

Now, I know my opinion doesn't really matter in the long run, but I figured I would get my 2 cents in as everyone else has something to say. I think the timing of the meeting was shady. Purposely done so that it could be pushed through. I am all for waiting and giving everyone time to review and reconvene at a less hectic time.

Jimmy, your point to software is noted but I don’t think it should be something that should push through the decision. I would like to think that the software purchased would have the ability to be flexible, allowing for the first few weeks of the year to be inputted retroactively. But I think that it is time to seriously get the matter resolved in a way that is satisfying both sides. The WFD deserve a contract just as the other departments. Firefighters are not the enemy.

Bob_Cushman, I think that your numbers are valid based on what is public knowledge at this point. It may be true that not everyone gets 3% raise or that everyone is promoted in the same time frame but it is at least a solid starting point for discussion. When dealing with millions of dollars, I highly doubt a few percentage points are going to change the big picture. I would almost rather start at a higher dollar amount and then be pleasantly surprised if it is lower. Hopefully, we will have some solid information to base it on fact rather than projections.

The rest, well, I am not a fan of trading insults. It lacks maturity and the ability to debate the facts. Credibility is zero as soon as it starts.

I understand that as you get older, you may not like how things change, however, change does come. I don't think it is acceptable to call people Fags or retarded. We are at a place in society where we acknowledge that people have been wronged in the past and we can start to make a positive change. To call someone a fag or retarded is a negative connotation and a statement that those that identify with those two categories are less than. That is far from the truth. I don't really care if I am called a snowflake. I would like to think that each year we progress farther than the last and we are shaping a better place for all.

Warwick is a great city but has some very bad practices that need to change. The turnout from taxpayers was really good to see. People are paying attention and getting more information. That is due, in part, to Cote and Block being outspoken. Now, you don’t have to believe what they are saying is true, but you have to acknowledge that it has helped our community to be more active. Hopefully, misinformation will be corrected in a public forum in a transparent manner. Isn’t that what both sides really want?

May 2020 be a year that is productive, positive and peaceful.
