11th Annual Holly Charette Motorcycle Run

Posted by TMurph

The 11th Annual Holly Charette Motorcycle Run will be held on Sunday, September 29th.

Holly was a sweet, kind and spirited soul who joined the marines after 9/11 because she wanted to do something for her country. Holly was just 21 years old when she was defending our country in Fallujah. Her convoy was struck by a suicide bomber on June 23, 2005. Holly was the first female Marine to lose her life during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Lance Cpl. Holly Charette Scholarship fund. This non-profit organization was started in 2006 to remember and honor Holly. Each year, a student from Cranston East and Coventry High School receives a college scholarship in Holly’s name (Holly attended both school districts).

Registration starts at 8am and kick stands go up at 10:00am. Tickets are $30 a person and include the ride, a t-shirt, and dinner. To purchase tickets, contact Ray Charette (401-347-9619), Regina Roberts (401-615-9265) or Ed Roberts (401-623-1164).

This ride will begin at the post office on Rolfe Square in Cranston, go through the scenic roads of RI to visit the Veterans cemetery to honor our hero, down to Narragansett Beach and then end at the Crowne Plaza for dinner, raffles and to see this year’s recipients receive their college scholarship.
