John and Eleanor Dias, residents of Warwick, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary November 28, 2013 (Thanksgiving) with friends and family in their home hosted by son and daughter-in-law Norman and Cindy Dias of Costa Mesa, Calif. and daughters Kris Dias and Donna Dias, both residing in Warwick, and their grandchildren, Justin Hart and his wife Becky and sons (great-grandsons) Sam and Lukas of Henniker, N.H., Garrett Dias, Gavin Dias and Megan Dias of Costa Mesa and John Michael Spelman and his wife Rikki of Gloucester, R.I. Before retiring John worked as a union carpenter and Eleanor worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital Operating/Recovery Room. During their retirement years they have traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Bermuda and throughout the United States. They were married November 28, 1953 at St. Mark’s Church in Garden City, Cranston. Their 60th wedding anniversary and Thanksgiving are the same day this year, a good day to celebrate with family and friends and to be thankful for so many wonderful years.
