Mayor Scott Avedisian along with Colonel Stephen M. McCartney and members of the Board of Public Safety presided over a police promotional ceremony on Tuesday in Council Chambers at Warwick City Hall to recognize the promotion of eight officers.
Bradford E. Connor was promoted to the rank of Major. Ryan T. Sornberger and Lori A. Michailides were promoted to the rank of Captain. Michael G. Lima, Timothy J. Marshall, James P. Valkoun were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Randy J. Francis and Stephen J. Major were promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Detective Christopher R. Lo was also recognized for elevation.
Lifesavings Awards wre presented to Officer Manuel M. Pacheco, Sergeant Margaret A. McKay and Officer Jill A. Marshall. Stanley Bastien, Connor Devine, and Peter Lambrechts will also receive lifesaving awards.
Avedisian administered the oath of office. The Warwick Police Honor Guard posted colors and Retired Captain William Tyler, Warwick Fire Department sang the National Anthem. Father Robert Marciano, the department chaplain, delivered the invocation and benediction.
