Rhode Island Family Court Chief Judge Haiganush Bedrosian and the Rhode Island Judiciary will be sponsoring a special event to celebrate the 12th National Adoption Day on Nov. 21, 2015. The event coincides with events being planned across the United States on this day to draw attention to the adoption process and the large number of children available for adoption. The Court will finalize 27 adoptions with 23 different families. Many sponsors and community agencies will join in the celebration.
The celebration begins at 9 a.m. on the fifth floor of the Garrahy Judicial Complex. Many local sponsors are involved: Dunkin’ Brands; HASBRO; Pawtucket Red Sox; Cardi Brothers, Cardi’s Furniture Cares About Kids; Adoption Rhode Island; Pepsi; Pinkberry; Foster Forward; CVS; Rhode Island Care Management Network; Jersey Mike’s; Deb Bettencourt Photography; Kay Jewelers; Massage Envy; Balloonatic; Princess Elsa; Providence Children’s Museum; Roger Williams Park and Zoo; The English Muffin; The Big Cheese & Pub; The Thirsty Beaver Restaurant; Stop & Shop; many other local restaurants/merchants.
Speakers include: Chief Judge Bedrosian; Special Guests: Nick, Ron and Pete Cardi; and Lace Holmes, with her adoptive parents Lori Weckesser and Kelly Holmes who will speak about their family’s experience with adoption.
