6 residents named to dean’s list

Six Warwick residents at Springfield College were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Amanda LaCroix, a student of Applied Exercise Science. Adriana DiGiuseppe, a student of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Jordan Karnes, a student of Communications/Sports Journalism; Caitlin Cooney, a student of Health Science/Occupational Therapy, Nicole Authelet, a student of Health Science/Pre-Physician Assistance, and Lauren Peladeau, a student of Health Science/Pre-Physical Therapy.

Zawia named Orientation Team

The University of Rhode Island recently selected Hannah Zawia of Warwick and 40 other URI students to represent the 2015 Orientation Team. Zawia, who is studying Pharmacy, has been chosen for the Team Leader role.

A highly competitive position and unique leadership opportunity, URI’s Orientation Team members serve as ambassadors to incoming students and families.

Warwick residents receive undergrad degrees from P.C.

Seven residents were among more than 800 students from Providence College who received undergraduate degrees on Sunday, May 17. They are: Sarah Corley, Brianna Fontaine, Matteo Giarrusso, Shannon Healy, Hayley McGuirl, Theodore Seufert, and Anne Shalvey.

Five Warwick residents were among more than 200 students from Providence College who received graduate degrees on Sunday, May 17. They are: Jeanine Fitzgerald, Caleigh Greenwell, Courtney Neves, Stephanie Pitassi, and Christine Testoni.

Continuing Education undergrad

degrees from P.C.

Two Warwick residents received undergraduate degrees from the Providence College School of Continuing Education on May 17. They are: Christopher Cahoon and Meredith Miller.

2 graduate from Lasell

Two local residents received degrees from Lasell College in Auburndale, Massachusetts: Jessica Corveno, who received a MSM degree and majored in Management; and Meaghan Spillane, who received a BS degree and majored in Psychology.

2 local residents graduate from

Mount Ida

Two local residents received degrees from Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts on May 11. Nicholas Shuler graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Biology. Briana Tomaselli graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Graphic Design.

Oberg recognized as degree candidate

at Loyola

Carson Paul Oberg, from East Greenwich, was recognized as a candidate for a B.S. from the College of Music & Fine Arts on Saturday, May 9.

Residents earn Mount Ida College

honors

The following Warwick students at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts were named to the dean’s list for achieving a GPA of 3.33 or higher in the Spring 2015 semester:

Danielle Barnabe, Cassidy Dickeson, Alicia Heaney, Lindsey McKenna, Nicholas Shuler, and Briana Tomaselli.

Julia Brandenburg named to

the dean’s list at Mercer University

Warwick resident Julia Brandenburg, a senior, was named to the dean’s list of Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music for the spring 2015 semester. Inclusion on this list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to the college or school within the University.

Residents receive degrees at 147th

WPI commencement

With 1,680 students, the largest graduating class in WPI’s history received their degrees beneath a large, billowing tent that shielded graduates and well-wishers from the sun that occasionally peeked from behind generally cloudy skies. In all, the Institute awarded 956 Bachelor’s degrees, 682 Master’s degrees, and 42 PhDs during its 147th Commencement.

The following Warwick residents recently graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI): Ellen Pierce was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Biotechnology with high distinction; John Nunes was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with high distinction; Zachary Blanchard was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering; Evan Safford was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science; Nicholas DeMarinis was awarded a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering; William Abbott was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree and Connor Bolton was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Durand on dean’s list

Christopher Durand, a sophomore majoring in Accounting, was among approximately 1,800 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the spring 2015 dean’s list. To qualify for the dean’s list, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade-point-average. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a 4.0 grade-point-average. All students must be enrolled full-time.
