On Thursday, June 2, 2016, at about 10:30 PM, the Warwick Police Department received the report that, “Someone shot a shotgun at the front door,” of the residence at 2134 Warwick Avenue.
Members of the Warwick Police Department immediately responded and confirmed that a shotgun had been discharged there. They further verified that no one was seriously injured.
Warwick Police then commenced an investigation into the matter . Based on statements made by a victim and witnesses, it was determined that the event was likely an attempt at a home invasion.
The Warwick Police have determined that the victim and address involved in this attempted home invasion were specifically targeted, and that there is no danger to the general public stemming from this event. Further details of the event are being withheld as the matter is still being investigated.
