Country line dancing lessons continue every Monday from 7-9 p.m. Lori Enos is the instructor, and the cost is $6 per person. Proceeds to benefit Elks Charities.

Zumba lessons continue every Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. Lorraine Blanchard is the instructor. Come and burn some calories and enjoy the fun. Cost is $6 per person.

Holiday Open House

Hillsgrove House, a healthy environment for adults who struggle with mental illnesses, is having a holiday open house and art sale Dec. 3 from 3-6 p.m. at 70 Minnesota Ave., Warwick. Conimicut Holiday Tree Lighting

The annual Conimicut Village Holiday Tree Lighting will be held Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in Donovan Park (corner of West Shore and Beach). Immediately after the lighting, everyone is invited across the street to Woodbury Union Church for caroling and bells upstairs followed by Santa and holiday goodies and beverages in the lower level. In the spirit of giving which is upon us, a canned good donation for the food pantry is appreciated. Come join to ring in the holiday season.

Warwick Animal Shelter Fundraiser

Hosted by Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter on Dec. 5 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Buttonwoods Community Center, 3027 West Shore Road, Warwick. Over 40 vendors will be gathered under one roof selling their wares just in time for Christmas. Products for sale include stained glass, Silpada jewelry, hand knit accessories, handmade chocolates, photography, handmade candles, crafts for animal lovers, handcrafted jewelry, essential oils and soaps, Wildtree herbs, Pampered Chef house wares, baked goods, all natural dog treats, clothing, books and much more. Admission is free. For more information call 467-2692. Pets are not allowed inside this facility. Proceeds benefit the homeless cats and dogs at the Warwick Animal Shelter.

Relay for Life Holiday Bazaar

The 2016 Relay For Life Holiday Bazaar will be held Dec. 5 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at St. Benedict Church Parish Hall, 70 Transit Street, Warwick. There will be 25 vendors offering all of your holiday favorites. There is no entry fee, just a suggested donation for the Warwick 2016 Relay for Life.

Christmas Fair

Central Baptist Church will hold its annual Christmas Fair Dec. 5 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with a variety of items for sale, including fresh wreaths, jewelry, baked goods, knitted items, gift baskets, Christmas ornaments, candles and decorator items. There will be a silent auction and Fair Trade Winds will have their products for sale. Advent & Christmas Concert

St. William Church at 200 Pettaconsett Ave. will host its annual Advent & Christmas Concert Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. The concert will include the St. William Adult Choir of six voices under the direction of Christopher A. Caramello and the 10 voices of the Rhode Island College Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Teresa Coffman. There is no charge, but free will offerings will be accepted. Bingo

Bingo will be held Dec. 5 at St. Kevin’s Church Hall, 333 Sandy Lane, starting with a $100 special and the last special is $100. Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo starts at 6.

Pancake Breakfast

Boy Scout Troop 71 Cowesett will have a pancake breakfast Dec. 6 from 8-11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 118 Division St., East Greenwich. They will be serving pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. Cost is $6 at the door; 3 years and under free.

Lunch & Learn Workshop at OSCIL

The Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL) will be hosting a Lunch and Learn Workshop Dec. 9 from 12-2 p.m. at the OSCIL office at 1944 Warwick Avenue, Warwick (the Beacon Center building). This month’s workshop is Assistive Gifts. These are holiday gifts that can help a loved one be more independent in the home or community. The top 10 most-requested items will be shared and resource information given as to where to purchase them. Join for a holiday lunch party to hear how assistive devices can assist you and/or your loved one. This workshop is part of OSCIL’s outreach and community education initiative. OSCIL offers monthly free Lunch and Learn workshops to highlight various solutions that can increase access in your home. Lunch will be served. Seating is limited. Warwick Figure Skaters Registration

Warwick Figure Skaters will hold a mid-season open registration for their fall-winter programs Dec. 12 from 1-3 in Thayer Arena and Dec. 13 from 1-3 in Warburton Arena (back rink), 975 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Their learn to skate group lesson programs taught by professional instructors will begin Jan. 2 and end Feb. 28 (nine weeks). Food Drive

The GAULIN Agency, 1 Rolfe Square, Cranston, will be hostinga food drive for the Rhode Island Food bank from Dec. 1-21. Help end hunger and provide much-needed food staples for families in Rhode Island. Stop by anytime Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Items needed the most are peanut butter, cans of tuna, canned or dried beans, Nutritious breakfast cereal, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, boxed macaroni & cheese, granola bars, cheese & cracker packages, dried fruit, tomato sauce, jams & jellies and extra virgin olive oil.

Weekly Meat Raffle

The West Bay Anglers are having a meat and lobster raffle every Saturday until March 2016 from 1-3:45 p.m. at the Warwick Firefighters Hall. They have a general table, a meat & lobster table, a special table and a TV & lobster table. There will be a 50/50 money raffle and two or three money raffles. Their two charities are R.I. Take a Kid Fishing and the imPossible Dream. Join for good food and fun and support these charities.

Family Performance Series

The holidays are here and the Family Performance Series, Artists Exchanges newest family-friendly programming, is the perfect activity to entertain all of your family members for little to no cost. Moms for Moms/Families First RI helps pregnant women and new mothers deal with an enormous transition by matching them with trained volunteers who are mothers themselves. Mentors develop a warm, supportive relationship while spending time with the new mom in their homes, accompanying them on outings and attending mom gatherings. On the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m., Sargent Rehabilitation Center, 800 Quaker Lane, Warwick, holds an aphasia conversation group. Join the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife & Drum Corps of Warwick and continue the great tradition of Colonial/Revolutionary history through music. The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.

Evening Counseling Available

Help for Victims of Crime

Are you a victim of physical or sexual assault, domestic violence, untreated childhood abuse, or another crime or traumatic event? Volunteers Needed to Sew

Looking for something to do to help foster kids? Organizers of The Sewing Project to Help Foster Kids are looking for volunteers who want to help sew pillowcase or duffel bags for foster children. Currently their belongings are sometimes put in black trash bags. Foster parent Adriane Grimaldi in Scottsdale, Ariz. started the Sewing Project in February 2008 for children taken from their homes by Child Protective Services (CPS) to make kid-friendly bags for carrying their belongings instead of trash bags. To date, people have made 6,700 pillowcase bags for foster kids Pillowcase bags are delivered to CPS to use instead of trash bags. The Sewing Project has opened a new Rhode Island Chapter working with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and is in need of volunteers to sew. Domestic Abuse Support Groups

The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center is a non-profit agency providing services to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. The agency offers morning and evening support groups for adults dealing with current or past domestic abuse Groups provide a safe place to talk with others who have shared similar experiences. Free Health Care

Our Lady of Fatima Hospital has an outreach coordinator to assist women in getting free health care If you are between the ages of 40-64 and are underserved or uninsured, call Maria at 456-3105 for a confidential assessment. You may be eligible for free care including mammogram and gynecological care.

Old Warwick Grange #41

The Grange is a fraternal community service, non-profit organization with a special interest in rural life and the traditions of faith, patriotism, leadership and family values Grange where the whole family can go and grow Help them to help others The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. No meetings in July or August. The Grange hall is located at 1175 West Shore Rd.

Developmental Screening

The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child’s development and offers information about community resources.
