Library Idea Studio makes for inspired gifts

It’s gift-giving time, and Warwick Library is here with an assist. Drop by the Idea Studio to make a button craft on Tuesday, December 6 from 2 to 8 p.m. Buttons are decorative objects that come in many shapes, colors and finishes. Choose a letter or a shape like a heart and festoon it with a layer of shiny, vibrant buttons. Tuck it into a shadow box, and you’ve created a charming gift to give to a loved one or friend. Let Warwick artisan Marsha Leonard walk you through the steps of making your craft, including choosing and placing your buttons for the most dazzling effect.

Those attending should bring buttons (the library will have a selection of buttons, too), canvas or sturdy cardboard, quick dry glue, tacky glue, pencil, scissors and shadow box (optional.) For more information, call 739-5440, x221. The library is located at 600 Sandy Lane. This event is free and open to all.
