Coping with loss topic of RI Executives Assn. meeting

Gabrielle Doucet, author of “Let Go & Let Love” will address a special meeting of the RI Executives Association on Wednesday, November 16 at noon at the Radisson Hotel, Post Road, Warwick.

The meeting will deal with the topic of loss in the work environment. Doucet will address how we deal with our own private losses, and how that translates to our working self, as well as how do we deal with co-workers, clients and others when loss due to death, or other losses such as financial, health, career or position, or self-esteem enters the very public realm of the workplace.

Doucet says, “there are positive steps we can take to survive as an individual, how can we apply those to our work environment, either as we go back to work after suffering great loss, or as we seek to help our employees or co-workers interact with someone who is experiencing their own very personal loss.”

Doucet, who had a career in nursing, wrote her book after experiencing the suicide loss of her 42-year-old son. Since then she has worked with others to help provide tools to survive suicide loss and has expanded her mission to include working with individuals and groups who have experienced loss of any kind. The meeting is free, includes a light lunch, and open to the business community. RSVP by Nov. 11 to Nancy Thomas at nthomas@tapestrycommunications.com or by calling 447-8182.
