Frederick T.R. “Skip” Smith, Jr., 68, of Warwick passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn M. (Bridge) Smith.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frederick T.R. Smith, Sr. and Florence W. (Oehrle) Smith. Skip was a Maintenance Foreman for the Warwick Housing Authority until his retirement due to ill health. He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and a member of Harmony Lodge F&AM and the Shriners.
He was the loving father of Heather L. Smith-Rodriques and her husband, Joseph of Warwick. Devoted grandfather of Ashley and Joseph “J.R.” Rodriques. Caring brother of Joan C. Schofield and her husband, Stan of Warwick. Cherished uncle of Paul and Peter Schofield.
His funeral will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Requiem Eucharist at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be private.
