The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold its 24th Annual Moby Dick Scouting Golf Classic Monday, July 20. The event will take place at Montaup Country Club in Portsmouth.
For more than two decades, the tournament has successfully raised over $391,000 for Scouting programs in Southeastern New England. Proceeds from the golf tournament will help to provide leadership development programs for the youth in Southeastern New England.
This year’s title sponsor, St. Anne’s Credit Union, is a longtime supporter of Scouting, with its retired CEO, Jack Ledwidge, being the tournament’s founder and Honorary Chairman. Additional sponsors include AAA Northeast, Fiserv and Gold N Things.
“The Narragansett Council has a longstanding tradition of providing beneficial programs to the youth of our communities,” said Jack Ledwidge, vice chairman of the Board at St. Anne’s Credit Union and former CEO/president. These programs provide Scouts with key character building exercises and lifelong benefits
Proceeds in the past have been responsible for building numerous Scout programs in Southeastern New England.
