To the Editor:
The committee of the May 31 Natick Family and Friends Gathering would like to thank the Warwick Beacon for their support in publicizing the event in many issues of the Beacon. Peter Fontaine of the Beacon is to be commended for a remarkable job of reporting the many facets of the evening’s festivities (June 5th edition of the Beacon). In addition, the committee extends its sincere appreciation to The Corner Bakery Café (next to Olive Garden/Smokey Bones) for their gracious hospitality to the committee during the many planning sessions leading up to the “Gathering.”
The committee would also like to inform the readers of the distribution of the excess funds resulting from the ticket sales. They are as follows: Troop 2 Natick Boy Scouts summer camp fund, $200; Social Justice Committee of Sacred Heart Church, $200 (This committee is a charitable group serving the disadvantaged regardless of denomination, ethnicity or any other distinction); Sacred Heart Church, $100; and The Rhode Island Community Food Bank, $248.11.
