A rescue dog from Texas that arrived in Warwick last Saturday has gone missing, and the community is being asked for help in finding her.
Raisin, a Chihuahua estimated to be about a year old, ran away from a
home on Broad Street on Saturday.
Jennifer Fredette, a volunteer with Friends of Homeless Animals who was housing the dog on a foster basis, said it is “pretty verifiable” she was last seen on Sunday at 10 a.m. at 350 Elm Street, but there has been no other information on her whereabouts since then. She also believes the dog could be in the neighborhood behind China Sea on Post Road.
As the dog has only recently arrived from Texas, there are still many unknowns about Raisin, and Fredette is not sure if she will respond to her name when called.
Raisin is black with a white mark on her chest. Fredette said those who see her should absolutely not chase her but call either 401-447-1877 or 401-234-4499 immediately (a lost dog flyer also says those who see her can email friendsoha@yahoo.com). She asks that callers report the specific date, time, exact address or landmark, going in which direction, the demeanor of dog, and what she was doing. There is a reward if she is found.

I was out walking my dog last Sunday when someone drove by and handed me a flyer. Since then we have all been keeping an eye out for Raisin. I hope she is found soon. It is going to get cold this weekend so prayers and positive wishes to all looking for her.
