The Rocky Point Clam Shack, 1689 Post Road, held a Retro Shore Dinner Hall event last Wednesday celebrating the memories of the city’s former amusement park. The eatery’s picnic area was transformed with long tables reminiscent of the dinner hall’s seating arrangements. Diners feasted on all-you-can-eat red chowder in original Dinner Hall tureens, along with Rocky Point Style clam cakes and watermelon.
Members from the group Rocky Point Park Remembered! Facebook page helped turn the evening into a walk down memory lane as they shared stories of past adventures. Rocky Point gurus Jason Mayoh, known for his book “Tales of Rocky Point Park,” and Sean McCarthy hosted exhibits with park memorabilia. The clam shack hopes to hold similar events throughout the summer.
