Full-service real estate management firm, Peabody Properties, Inc., has announced Dana Smith has joined the firm as Vice President of Human Resources. In his new role, Smith will provide overall human resource support to the company and its more than 425 employees. His focus and responsibilities will include implementing strategies for employee engagement and relations, policy, procedure, education and career path development, performance management, benefits administration, recruitment, hiring and retention. Certified in a number of human resources disciplines, Smith is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and World at Work and a participant in Ashoka’s Youth Venture. Prior to joining Peabody Properties, Smith served as the Vice President of Human Resources at TYCO SimplexGrinnell. Earlier in his career, Smith held human resources positions at Providence Energy Corporation, Barnes Group, Inc. and Invensys MARCAM. Smith lives in Warwick with his wife Mary, daughter Ashley, 14, and son Matthew, 16. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Providence College.
