No fooling, runners and walkers came dressed in their “turkey best” Thanksgiving morning for the Warwick Rotary Club 5K turkey Trot held at City Park. This was the third annual trot and the biggest so far with more than 300 participants. Funds raised by the event support Rotary Club charities and food donated by participants went to the marketplace run by Westbay Community Action. The Turkey Trot is the brainchild of club member Tom Sanford, who with his family and a contingent of club members show up at City Park at 6:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day in order to send participants off by 8 a.m. They are packed up and back at home by 10 a.m. in time to put together their own family feast.
