Time to take back from true haters

To the Editor:

As we read the news headlines and view them on our news cable channels, one wonders as to how long we have left before total annihilation strikes us. And these chaotic events that we are viewing, in many ways, are totally beyond our control. People are being slaughtered all over the world by other people and by nature’s wrath. Here in America, once again, we have anarchists protesting against law and order in order to allow for their own agendas to be fulfilled.

Even these assaults on our intelligence are out of our control because as soon as you speak against them you are automatically labeled a hater. I am sure that is what I will be labeled by many, but the fear of that stigmata has left me a long time ago. As a realist, a term that is becoming extinct in this depraved society we are faced with, I have decided to accept the barbs that are thrown at me and express my opinion as an American still living in a democracy, for a little while longer, anyway.

The world has fallen under the spell and the control of an evil that many seem powerless to fight against. We have raised a generation that believes in greed and power and decadence. We have been deluded by the depravity of our minds and believe that what was once evil is now good. There is very little good left in most of us. It is basically a term we toss about so as not to completely lose our minds by taking a close view of all the hatred and violence that surrounds us. Most of which we have created or enabled by our fear of being different.

Our political leaders, our media sycophants, our so-called community leaders and, yes, even our so-called spiritual advisors can dictate to us what should be done, in order to make the world a safer place, but in the end it is a personal issue between you and your conscience. Only we can change this decadent, twisted society we are faced with by standing up and saying no more. Instead of being afraid to be called a hater perhaps we should toss the term back at those who use it so freely. I would rather be termed a hater then a coward, and that is what we are if we just sit back and let our country fall under the spell of evil and decadence.

It’s time for decent, law-abiding people to retake their lives from the true haters and racists of this world. I don’t mean take back their country, which was bought and sold over 40 years ago, I mean their own personal lives, the lives that will someday face their maker.
