To the Editor:
I was born and raised in Carbondale, Pa.
Coming from an Italian Roman Catholic home. Our family was Mom, Dad, and eight children. We were taught at a very early age how to leave a kind word and respect for all human beings!
I would like to give recognition to one of my special friends; her name is Dorothy Darcy. Dorothy is a volunteer for Elderly Affairs. She has been my senior companion for the last four years.
She has been the most reliable, loving person, who takes me out every Thursday morning. I always look forward to being with her on this day. I make sure I schedule all my doctor appointments on that day in the mornings.
I am 101 years young and my wish is that every senior retiree be as fortunate as I have been to have a wonderful woman like Dorothy. Love you Dorothy! I am truly blessed.
