A Christmas Journey

Two small tots snug in bed

Cold outside, cozy within

Adult voices below

Lift children’s excited giggles of happy present and future hopes.

Under the warmth of blankets, Santa and Christmas form in each head.

Two adults whisper hopes, dreams, problems, schemes,

Lots to do and now day’s chores have fled

Winter, children, Christmas, fun

Made secure in a cold nights bed.

Glowing in good will spread. Alone in bed, others about town,

Lights aglow, land filled with snow,

Awaiting a sound,

A latch that turns, a barking dog,

There it is and all is well.

Thanks again for no future ghosts to dread. Two seniors now gray and sore

With loving comments and silly secrets.

Trust in the future

Pleasure of dreams past.

Warm and toasty from a happy day.

Blessed and basking in a wonderful life where God has led.

What does any of this ranting have to do with letters to the Editor? And the clowns that like to comment from afar have made fun of me....wow....look in the mirror once and awhile.
