More than 500 cases of Florida oranges and grapefruits were picked up Saturday at Paul Arpin Van Lines in West Warwick as part of the 26th annual Rotary Club of East Greenwich citrus drive. Proceeds from the drive, expected to total more than $7,000, will benefit the club’s charitable fund and in particular donations to the Girl Scouts and Kent Hospital. The club got a big assist from its Rotoract Club at the New England Institute of Technology. NEIT students helped with running the distribution of cartons of the fruit as people drove in to collect their orders.
