Bowling fundraiser on Saturday to help Al’s Moving Minds

Posted

Warwick resident and business owner Anne Mulhall is organizing a bowling fundraiser this Saturday that will help raise awareness and create funding for programs for Al’s Moving Minds, an on-location activity group that runs various two-hour programs for people in the early to moderate stages of memory loss.

The event at Meadowbrook Lanes at 2530 Warwick Avenue runs from 7 to 10 p.m., and will feature bowling, karaoke, raffles and more. Tickets for adults are $20, and $10 for children under 12. An extra $5 will get each guest two slices of pizza and a soft drink. A cash bar is available, as well. While tickets can be purchased at the door, an RSVP is still preferred if dining at the event.

Contact Mulhall at 226-4677 to make a reservation or reserve tickets via phone. Also, ticket payments or donations can be via check made to Al’s Moving Minds, and mailed to P.O. Box 9666, Warwick, RI 02889. Mulhall, the executive director of LDI Casting, the largest casting company in Rhode Island, established Al’s Moving Minds in honor of her father, Al Mulhall, in 2009. Al struggled with stroke-related memory loss and passed away in 2001. The group encourages those suffering from memory loss to be lively, social and independent while allowing caregivers the opportunity to enjoy time to themselves.
