James N. Brassard, Lt. WFD (Ret), 74, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Susan E. (Morgan) Brassard and a son of the late Normand L. and Dorothy (McNulty) Brassard. Jim had served as a firefighter with the Warwick Fire Department for 20 years, retiring as lieutenant in 2000. Jim was on the go all the time. He loved cars, motorcycles, and boats. He always looked forward to summer and spending time by the pool or on the water. He loved games of chance and enjoyed spending time at the track and casinos. A graduate of Warwick Vets, Class of 67, he enjoyed getting together with friends.
Jim leaves two daughters Michelle S. Bressler (husband, Gregory) and Jessica A. Brassard. He was the father of the late Melissa Anne Brassard and Jillian Marie Brassard, with whom he will be laid to rest. Jim also considered Rachael Batz (husband, Anthony Kenner) and her daughter Skylar Batz among his daughters and grandchildren. He leaves his grandchildren Whitman, Julian, and Susanna Bressler, and Jesse James Brassard. He was the brother of Stephen Brassard, Michael Brassard, and the late Robert Brassard.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 9-11am with a service at 11:00am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Cemetery, Warwick. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, www.cff.org, or A Wish Come True, www.awish.org.
