CITY OF CRANSTON BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS

The following applications will be heard by The City of Cranston Building Board of Appeals on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the Galley Conference Room of The Building Inspections Department, 35 Sockanosset Crossroad, Cranston, RI 02920.

THE CITY OF CRANSTON (OWN) and CRANSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS (APP) have applied to the Board to request relief from the requirements of an interior stairway having an

unobstructed path to an exterior exit that is readily visible from the point of termination of the enclosure, in accordance with SBC-1-2019, Section 1028.1, exception 1.1. Applicant seeks a variance requesting exit signage to be installed in accordance with The Rhode Island Fire Safety Code- RIFSC §7.7.2(3), allowing identifiable exit signage to be installed directing occupants to the exterior exits.
