To the Editor:
The excellent Beacon article, “Ethics commission finds Travis violated law, issues $1,200 fine,” was right on target. Her attorney, Robert Flaherty, has likened his client, Ward 6 Councilwoman Donna Travis, to the beautiful, universally honored and loved Saint Mother Teresa.
In my opinion, this contemptuous comparison is a pathetic and outrageous travesty.

    Dear Gene,

The ethics commission should be ashamed of themselves, and Gene, so should you. They were NOT "right on target" They even missed the wall the target was mounted on. Donna Travis (and her husband Bill ) deserves a statue for her decades of unselfish charity work and public service. They have done more for Oakland Beach than EVERYONE else put together, and she never took a bow or asked for a dime.

Fining her is like fining that pilot "Sully" for killing some geese when he was emergency-landing his plane onto the Hudson River saving the lives of 155 passengers.

You call her lawyers comparison to Mother Teresa, an "outrageous travesty".

Finding any fault with her actions, Gene, is the real "Travis-Travesty". Considering all of the selfless acts of kindness Donna has performed, she's not LIKE Mother Teresa Gene, she IS Mother Teresa!

Gene, if you can name one person in history that has done more for Oakland Beach than Donna Travis, let's hear it. Otherwise a sincere apology is what she should hear from you.

    Happy Summer Donna and Bill.

    Happy Summer everyone.

Dear mentally ill Non Taxpayer Mayor,

You are a delusional embarrassment, not only as a tax cheat failed candidate, not only as a political suck up to anyone with a D next to their name, but also as someone who, once again, clearly has no level of comprehension of rules and regulations set forth by the RI Judicial Branch. You can only be considered to be an inept imbecile when you post this type of crap. What I find completely hysterical, is that you donated to this compromised individuals campaign, and she refused to even post one of your signs. She even signed a letter disparaging you in favor of the current wreck of a mayor.

Your ignorance of the law and your lack of ability to perform any type of research prior to opening your pie hole is only superseded by your next statement of buffoonery. How you compare this failed uneducated political suck up to Mother Theresa is shameful. A person who made numerous attempts to sequester the first amendment rights of Warwick residents. A person who spelled a 4 letter word incorrectly on a sign held up at a council meeting. A person who did everything possible to prevent residents from speaking in public. A person who has zero fiscal knowledge of the city government. A person who was habitually late paying her property taxes and her car taxes, (just like you, maybe you are cousins) and was allowed a "special" tax payment schedule from her friend the mayor due to her fiscal incompetence. A person who premeditatedly schemed to abscond tax payer monies to benefit her little slush fund. A person who should have recused herself from numerous council votes. I could go on and on but maybe we should just come up with a new adjective to identify you. How about we just refer to you as "DUMBNESS" from now on.

Not withstanding the huge socioeconomic strides that have been made in her neighborhood in the 20 years that she has held the seat. NOT !

Your comments just go to prove once again how displaced you are from reality. By the way, I hope the tent that you are living in at City Park didn't blow away. We had heavy wind gusts today. Is squatting allowed at City Park?

    Hello again Thecaptain:

Thanks again for your thorough dismantling of yet another comment by the tax cheat fake "mayor." If it is any consolation, the losing candidate declined to use his false title in another article posted recently, which I think shows that our work to de-legitimize his use of that title has had an effect: http://warwickonline.com/stories/sa-graffiti,125306

His comment on that article was tone-deaf, something we've come to expect from him -- for example, completely ignoring the work done by a group of Boy Scouts in favor of a pandering statement about the state Representative who also participated -- further confirming your statements about his remove from reality.

[I would also note the error in his statement about Rep. McNamara "rolling up his sleeves," when the photo in the article clearly shows him wearing a short-sleeved shirt, yet more proof of his poor grasp of facts.]

And if what you are saying is true about the failed losing candidate's current living arrangements, it is at least consistent with his prior practice of having others subsidize his residence. May I ask whether there is documented proof of this situation? A video or photo, perhaps?

So let me see if I get this right. Crazy Corrente believes if a good person breaks the law they should not be penalized nor criticized. Did you decide to bypass the slippery slope theory and head right to crazy town? Elected officials are not above the law any more than the next guy. You break the law, you pay the penalty. No one demonized this woman.

    Dear Kammy,

I'm with you 100% when you say "You break the law you pay the penalty". However, in this case the decision was a judgement call especially since Donna Travis didn't gain any money by not reporting "full disclosure" of her involvement with her charities. She merely thought it wasn't that important, a mistake anyone could have made. The Ethics Commission could have, and in my view, should have given her a warning, not a fine. When they made that judgement, they should have taken into consideration her long list of good deeds. I don't believe they did. You say "No one demonized this woman". I think the $1,200 fine was "demonizing". She was also photographed (by the same guy) parking in a "no parking" spot. When I saw it I wrote that she should get a parking ticket for that; a parking ticket that i would be proud to pay for. Same reason.

    Happy Summer Kammy

    Happy Summer everyone.

    Dear CrickeeRaven,

You're right about one thing. I failed to give any credit to the Boy Scouts who also worked hard to cover up the graffiti. My error. Many congratulations to them as well!

    Hey CrickeeRaven,

I didn't notice you give credit to the Boy Scouts OR Representative Joe "Mac". How come?

By the way, since I never cheated on ANY taxes you shouldn't slander me by calling me a "tax cheat". Also when you call me a "fake" please remember that your NAME is fake. You don't even have the courage to admit who you are. Isn't that "fake"?

    Happy Summer CrickeeRaven

Yet again, the failed losing tax delinquent fake "mayor" [apparently he is finally seeking accuracy about his past failures to pay property taxes on the residence he claimed on his candidacy papers and other documents, and I am pleased to oblige] engages in bullying and double standards in an attempt so somehow excuse or divert attention from his own behavior.

Specifically, it is rather pathetic that he accuses others of "slander" given his relentless repetition of false information, like the provably, objectively incorrect claim that Warwick somehow lost 4,600 businesses.

Like the other commenters here, I believe that the failed losing candidate should at the very least stop commenting on this site and perhaps seek professional help.

    Dear DUMBNESS,

That would the failed candidate non taxpayer Corrente.

Once again , more lies and BS out of his pie hole. He says he never cheated on any taxes. HABITUAL LIAR. The rat lived rent free, mortgage free, tax free, utility free, for in excess of 2 years during the litigation to "forcibly" remove him from the dwelling. (Quote from the court documents) During that time, he failed to pay $8081.71 in property tax which had to be paid as back taxes and interest, by the company that ultimately acquired the property. He left an outstanding utility bill for in excess of $500.00 which had to be paid by the individual who acquired the property. During that time period he removed his black car "BANKRS" from the tax rolls and never paid car taxes. So while he was claiming to everyone that he was a bust out with no ability to pay taxes that he incurred, he loaned himself $30,000 to campaign for elected office. Now that's a guy with some serious ethics breaches. No wonder he is criticizing the ethics commission. He and his cousin Travis are both tax delinquents.

In the mentality of Mr. DUMBNESS, if your a nice person and you rob a bank, they should weigh out all of the good things that you did, prior to implementing the law as written.

Is there a better adjective than DUMBNESS? Only one I can think of is FECKLESS, but neither Mr. DUMBNESS, nor Travis would understand the adjective.

    Dear Bendover,

I have always been open and honest with my remarks. When I see good I applaud it. When I see bad, I put the time and effort into researching it and suggest a better plan if I think there is one.

You, on the other hand have never offered one "better plan" and you won't even tell the reader who you are. All you do is criticize.

Maybe you should go back and re-visit your Dr. Sidney Freeman. I'm sure he will give you sound advice like "don't hide behind a fake name. It's dishonest" or "Don't criticize Corrente's plan unless you can think of a better one."

    Happy Summer Bendover.

    Hello Bendover:

Kindly allow me to translate the prior comment by the failed losing fake "mayor" in reply to your earlier statement: "NO U!!!!"

This is not the first time -- nor, I am sure, will it be the last -- that he attempts to enforce rules about using this site that have not been established by the actual owners. His objection to screen names is well-documented and, despite the fact that use of pseudonyms does not necessarily raise questions about an author's veracity, he continues his bullying of other commenters for their use of them.

Do you find it hypocritical, as I do, that the failed candidate would give himself a factually incorrect title ["mayor"] and then criticize others for using screen names?

Do you also find it hypocritical, as I do, that he has defended his use a title that he did not earn by saying that the owners of the site "said it was OK," and yet will not recognize their approval of screen names?

Until the failed losing fake "mayor" reconciles these clearly hypocritical actions, I welcome you and other commenters to continue responding to him just as you have here.

    Dear CrickeeRaven,

I call myself "The Taxpayers Mayor" because I consider myself a servant of the taxpayers, but I also give my honest name and phone number.

I'm not afraid to identify who I am.

    You are.

That's why you hide behind a fake name. You're the "fake" CrickeeRaven. Not me.

As predicted, the losing failure fake "mayor" simply continues his bullying behavior and contempt toward other commenters instead of addressing his blatant falsehoods.

He also seems to lack any sense of shame, as he has succeeded only in connecting his real name to a losing candidacy, tax delinquencies, and false statements -- yet persists in criticizing commenters who use pseudonyms (and have a clear history of accuracy in their comments) as somehow less brave than he is.

Perhaps other readers feel, as I do, that it is far more cowardly to hide from truth than it is to tell it.

Until the losing fake "mayor" is brave enough to admit to his falsehoods, everything else he says should be disregarded.
