Donald J. DiMartino, 80, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Dolores M. (Petrarca) DiMartino for 59 years.
He was a son of the late Armand and Mary (Burnatchicz) DiMartino. A United States Marine and Air Force veteran, Donald worked as a supervisor in the jewelry industry for many years. He then worked at Kent County Mental Health, his most rewarding career, before retiring. Donald was the previous owner of The Elms in East Greenwich. He enjoyed playing cards, poker, watching football and “The Honeymooners” with Jackie Gleason. Donald was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, and the William Shields American Legion Post #43.
Donald was the father of Donald J. DiMartino Jr. and his fiancée, Jamie Allard, Ronald C. DiMartino and his significant other, Eileen Sherry, and Tonya M. DiMartino Audett and brother of Yvonne Kadelski and the late Marilyn Vanner Loiselle. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three nephews.
His funeral will be Monday, April 23 at 9 a.m. from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane.
