Doris Frances Palmquist, 90, of Warwick, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Coventry Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Coventry. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip Earl Palmquist, Sr. The couple were married 72 years at the time of his passing.

Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Olive M. (Joyal) Angell. Doris was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was a dedicated Christian and a devoted mother. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking and also enjoyed participating in Church activities. Doris and her late husband, Philip, cared for twenty-four foster children over the years.

Doris is survived by her beloved children: Doris F. Raehl (Tom) of Blythewood, SC, Philip E. Palmquist, Jr. (Linda) of Coventry, Anita L. Braden (Jim) of Cassopolis, MI, Paul A. Palmquist (Betsey) of Rumney, NH and Peter J. Palmquist (Carey) of Shady Side, MD; a brother: Harold Angell of Newport; thirteen grandchildren: Melissa, Timothy, Joseph, Rosalie, Andy, April, Samuel, Jeremy, Stephen, Heather, Caleb, Benjamin and Seth; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of the late Faith Mendes, Roy Chappelle, George, Charles, Jr., Donald, Earl and Ernest Angell.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment of Doris and her late husband, Philip, will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Warwick. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
