Dubke, Lester B.

Lester B. Dubke, 83, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024.  Born in Michigan, he was a son of the late Louis and Hazel (Boehle) Dubke. Lester had served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years during which he spent 11 years at sea. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as Senior Chief Machinist Mate. Following his discharge from the military, Lester was employed as a Facilities Engineer at Narragansett Brewery and Brown University for several years before working at Rhode Island Hospital for 20 years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he also enjoyed tending to his garden and listening to country music. Lester loved baseball, especially his Detroit Tigers. He was also a member of the TriCity Elks in Warwick.

 He was the former husband of Meredith E. (Morgan) Dubke and the loving father of Susan Kenyon (William, Battalion Chief PFD Ret.) and Janice Conklin (Shawn); grandfather of Paige Nelson (Jeffrey), Zoe Conklin, Chase Conklin, and the late Kory Kenyon; great-grandfather of Brielle and Sophie Nelson.  He also leaves his brothers Clifford and Russell Dubke.

 His Funeral Service was held Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 10am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.  Burial with Military Honors followed in the R.I. Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours were Wednesday 4-7pm.
