George A. Gallagher, 82, of Pasadena Court, Warwick, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to the late Carol Ann (Lord) Gallagher, who just passed away two months ago in November.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Irene (Hanley) Gallagher.
George worked for over 30 years at the former Hoechst Celanese and Clariant Corporation in Coventry, retiring as the Warehouse Manager. A faithful communicant of St. Timothy’s Church in Warwick, he loved volunteering his time at the church wherever needed! He enjoyed going out to eat, especially Newport Creamery, and he became an avid reader.
George was a loving and great dad. He is survived by his loving daughters, Sondra J. Medeiros and her husband Larry of Warwick and Jill A. Gallagher and her husband Jason of West Warwick; four grandchildren, Brooke and Tara Medeiros and Cameron and Ethan Hunt and his nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Joan Fagan and Richard Gallagher.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend George’s Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Timothy’s Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
