Gerald (Jerry) E. Dubois, 89, of Warwick, RI passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2023. Born on July 19, 1934 in Norwalk, CT to the late Eugene Sr. and Reeda Dubois. He could be characterized in three words: God, Family, and Country.
Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Navy right out of high school in 1951. He proudly served his country for 23 years, achieving the rank of Master Chief Boatswain’s Mate.
Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked at Electric Boat for 26 years, followed by 8 years of service with TSA. He was immensely loyal and hardworking, gaining the respect and appreciation of all who worked with him.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures; camping with his grandchildren, walking along the beach, spending treasured time with his great grandchildren, and serving as a Deacon at Spring Green Memorial Church. Jerry is survived by his loving partner of 10 years, Nancy Flagg; daughters and their husbands Wendy (Dubois) and Robert Guida, Karen (Greenwood) and Arthur Jencks; his grandchildren - Sarah (Dubois) Kaempfe, William Dubois, Jason Guida, Lauren Guida, Jennifer (Jencks) Logsdon, Elli Jencks, and Kodin Flagg; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Joy Moretti; and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Greenwood) Dubois.
A funeral service for Gerald will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 8:30am from Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am in Spring Green Memorial Church, 1350 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Spring Green Memorial Church. Burial with Military Honors to take place in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
