The Warwick Area Career and Tech Center has 12 state level SkillsUSA winners that qualify to attend the national competition in Louisville, Kentucky. However, they must first raise around $18,000 to send the students to the competition.
The Career and Tech Center will sponsor a golf tournament as its “major fundraiser” for these students. The tournament will be held on June 3 at the Cranston Country Club, 69 Burlingame Road in Cranston. Shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $125 per person and includes dinner, green’s fee, carts, donation, and prizes.
Prizes will be given for holes in one, closest to the pin, male, female, and mixed divisions, and “many, many other” giveaways. An awards dinner will be held at the country club’s Steamship Round Buffet.
Sponsorships can also be purchased for the following prices: Platinum, $700; Gold, $100; Silver, $50; and Bronze, other.
All contributions are tax deductible. Checks can be made payable to the Warwick Area Career & Technical Center.
