Few pieces of music have achieved the renown of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" written by seventeenth century organist and composer Johann Sebastian Bach. From the silver screen to wedding celebrations, the lilting melody Bach wrote to accompany a hymn for one of his church services has become one of the best-known pieces of music in the world. 

On Saturday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m., the Greenwood Concert Choir will be joined by professional soloists, strings, and harpsichord to produce "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben," the large cantata for which "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" was written. Composed in 1723, we celebrate the 300^th anniversary of this landmark piece with an hour-long program of Christmas favorites, including music for our fifty-voice concert choir, organ, and handbells, conducted by John Black at the Greenwood Community Church on Main Avenue.  Admission is free..
