Jo-Ann M. (Demers) Hockhousen, age 86, of Warwick, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was the wife of the late Alfred Hockhousen, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Donat and Marie (Barber) Demers. Jo-Ann worked as a Matron Custodian within the Warwick School Department for many years and was former member of the St. Rita’s Woman’s Club, American Legion Auxiliary William Shields Unit #43, and Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her three loving children, Stephen W. Hockhousen, JoAnn H. Lynch, and Mark A. Hockhousen and his wife Patricia; four adored grandchildren, Jennifer Gonsalves, Evan Hockhousen, Trish Hockhousen, and Bethany Rivet; five beloved great-grandchildren, Jayda and Dante Gonsalves, Paige and Landen Hockhousen, and Sarabeth Betters; and adored great great-granddaughter, Milani Jade Bryant. She was the mother of the late Kenneth Hockhousen and Donna J. Rivet; grandmother of the late Stephen W. Hockhousen, Jr.; and sister of the late Roger Demers, Theresa Bisson, and Michael Demers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00AM from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. Rita’s Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave, Warwick. Burial to take place immediately following Mass will be held in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 4:00-7:00PM.
